By the Dart Now Available Online |
If you are away from Dartmouth for an extended period or a regular visitor keen to keep in touch then it’s possible never to miss an issue of By The Dart. We have joined forces with Dartmouth’s leading reference source so that it is easy to access and read the latest issue on the web (or revisit past issues).
If you register, Dartmouth Directory will send you an email alerting you to the latest issue. Dartmouth Directory was created in 1999, and was the first website in Dartmouth to feature local information on the town. The founders (locals Chris Scorer and Ian Phillips) started the site as a hobby, designed to help people aquire information on accommodation in Dartmouth.
Over the years, Dartmouth Directory has evolved and grown in size, providing vast information on Dartmouth and the local area. In November 2007, Dartmouth Directory was acquired by two local businessmen from the original founders. The new owners specialise in IT services, and tourism. Their aim was to take a very successful website to the next level in appearance and function, and ensure the ongoing success of its advertisers and users.
Throughout the winter and spring 2008, extensive work was undertaken to develop the new website. The website has now been redeveloped into a powerful marketing website for Dartmouth. Advertisers have complete freedom over their own photos and copy, and can even publish special offers and late accommodation deals. Unique visitors to the site are double last year (hitting 7,600 in January 2009).
The new site is interactive, dynamic and fresh and is benefiting from continual updates - the tie-up with By The Dart is part of that process of improvement to make it even more useful and informative.
