Dart Music Festical - May 2009 |
This year ’s fantastic music festival is set to be better than ever before, with what has become known as The Premier Music Event in the South Hams diary, taking place over the 8th, 9th and 10th of May 2009. Music for All is the festival’s motto, and they will not disappoint as there will be a vast array of music from jazz to classical, with the majority being free entry.
This festival is operated by an amazing set of volunteers, who work tirelessly. The festival is run entirely on contributions from our very generous sponsors and friends, to the public collections in the rattling tins all over the town! All proceeds from the programme also go into paying for the event – the musicians all need paying for their fantastic talent!
With the welcome return of Opera on the Run & Glorious Chorus , there really is something for everyone, at venues all around the town. You can listen to the Bonneville Barons playing rockabilly and swing, and The String Bean Quartet will perform in Bayards Cove.
Workshops and children’s performers will be on throughout the weekend, so all the family are welcome. Don’t miss our local primary schools with their special contribution to the Music Festival. In fact, there is just too much to talk about in one short article so for full details see our programme, which will be out in the spring 2009 and on sale for just £2.50 at various venues around the town.
