Dartmouth Stroke Support Group

Stroke Support Group

Stroke can be a devastating and isolating experience for both patient and family.

The Dartmouth Stroke Support Group aims to provide information, support and social contact to stroke recoverers and their families and friends. New members are warmly welcomed and it is hoped that the friendly atmosphere will help each person to regain confidence and the ability to cope with everyday life.

The group meets fortnightly at the Over Sixties Rest Room, Charles Street, Dartmouth between 2.00p.m. and 3.30p.m. Refreshments are provided and assistance can be given with transport to and from meetings. The Stroke Association is a national charity solely concerned with stroke.

It provides practical support for people who have had strokes, their families and carers. The Stroke Association runs telephone helplines and provides publications and welfare grants. A Central Advisory Centre offers an Information and Education service. More than 400 stroke clubs are affiliated to The Stroke Association.
