Dartmouth Self Catering flat 2 on the Dart, Dartmouth South Devon.
Dartmouth, on the beautiful River Dart, has medieval houses, narrow streets and old quays. The town abounds with first class restaurants and unique independent shops; selling antiques, gifts and craftware. There are also a number of original art and photographic galleries. The views both up and down the estuary and to Kinswear on the opposite bank are truly breathtaking, and there is always activity on the river.
You can walk the cobbled pavements of Bayard's Cove, which is much the same today as it was in the 16th century. Re-live history by exploring the fascinating streets with such intriguing names as Jawbones, Flagon Steps, Damnation Alley, Undercliff, Kings Quay, Old Rope Walk and Waterpool Lane.
While walking around the town you'll come across quaint, quirky buildings like the Ship In Dock, Sloping Deck, The Captain’s House, The Windjammer and The Floating Bridge. These are all now places to eat or drink. For those who enjoy whiling away time on the beach, there is the nearby Blackpool sands.
