TCPTownstal Community Partnership, making it better for residents of Townstal,Dartmouth |
The Townstal Community Partnership TCP is a community led multi agency partnership that was set up in June 2009 to tackle issues identified by Townstal residents that will help to significantly improve the neighbourhood for all Back in June at the public meeting residents were nominated to roles on the partnership and together with representatives from all the major agencies who work with and for Townstal. The TCP gives residents a direct voice to the agencies who together with residents and other partners agencies will help to address issues that are causing difficulties to residents..The main issues that were identified at a community listening event in April 09 is the starting point for the TCP and copies of the report ‘Listening to Townstal’ are available from the TCP The TCP will be looking for a drop in office in the community but until then is based in the community hall with monthly meetings held on the 4th Monday of every month at the community hall all residents are welcome to come and have a say on local issues or to raise a neighbourhood particular issue that is troubling–you. These meeting are at 7pm and children are welcome [a drawing area is provided for them] Already TCP has introduced free benefit advice and legal advice surgeries. South Hams District Council benefits team [Housing & Council tax benefits] and Judith Hirst from Hooper Wollen Solicitors in Dartmouth come to the Community Hall to give free advice to anyone who needs it. These surgeries have started up monthly but can be increased if there is a demand, but we need to hear from you.Also, together with South Hams District Council, TCP have successfully bid for money to refurbish Collingwood Park Area, which will happen by March 2010. TCP would like to hear any comments you have on this and have involved the primary school children with having a say with what play equipment would like to see. TCP will also be going to Dartmouth Community College to speak with the children and to some toddler groups to speak to the mums of Townstal. But we would love to hear from all the community….. TCP has representatives from Tor Homes, Guinness Hermitage, South Hams District Council, Devon County Council, Devon Primary Care Trust, Devon & Cornwall Police, Fire Service, local schools, Devon Youth Service, Children’s Trust, Dartmouth Children’s, Centre and the list will grow , So come along and meet some of your representatives for the local public services and see what the TCP is all about.
