The Seahorse Restaurant, Dartmouth South Devon The Seahorse specialises in seafood sourced from the local fishermen and the nearby port of Brixham. Our local species of fish and shellfish are some of the finest in the world and you can enjoy the best of these at The Seahorse Restaurant in the beautiful town of Dartmouth South Devon. Depending on the season and the weather you can expect to find, prawns, lobster, crab, bass, scallops, turbot, soles, mullet and lots more. The restaurant is situated on the banks of the river Dart overlooking the water, the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable and families are most welcome. We believe good fish speaks for itself and needs little fussing with. At The Seahorse we roast or grill our fish over a charcoal fire with herbs and olive oil, on or off the bone, as guests wish. Apart from the simplicity of grilled fish we have Mediterranean favourites like bouillabaisse, lobster calderetta, fritto misto, and spaghetti with seafood. Our menu changes daily according to the seafood available and season. We have an extensive list of over 160 bottles from £15 upwards. Our list is put together with our friend and wine buyer Tim McLaughlin-Green and many of the growers are personal friends. The Seahorse is run by Mitch Tonks and his great friend and long term business partner Mat Prowse. |
