Colin and Heather extend a warm welcome at The Ship Inn. Sited in picturesque Kingswear, no trip across the River Dart from Dartmouth would be complete without a visit to this traditional village pub & restaurant. Food does not have to travel far to reach The Ship Inn. Fish is brought by boat along The River Dart and carried just 200 yards to the kitchens. Here the chef prepares delicious daily specials based on the best catch of the day to be served with seasonal Devon vegetables. Meat is also sourced from local South Devon Farms and steaks are guaranteed to be served to your liking. Food can be enjoyed during the warmer months on the covered terrace where you can enjoy fantastic views of The River Dart and Dartmouth. Alternatively there is a large bar area and restaurant which are both warmed by traditional log fires during the cooler months. There is a wide range of beers available at The Ship Inn. They have been featured in the CAMRA good beer guide since 2004 and are also a Cask Marque independently assessesd and approved Inn. Beers are rotated regularly but will include Otter Ale, Adnams and Otter Mild. The Ship Inn also offers a comprehensive and good value wine list with some exceptional quality and good value house wines. Daily specials include dishes such as: * Local Lobster served with salad & new potatoes * Braised Turbot served with mushroom & leek fricassee & crushed Jersey Royals * Trio of pan fried fish fillets served with warm potato salad * Whole Lemon Sole simply pan fried with parsley butter & served with chips & salad The Ship Inn is very popular so booking is highly advisable especially during busy periods.
