These two beaches are set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).The beach is coarse sand with rocky outcrops and has plenty of rock pools to explore at low tide making this beach a very popular destination for families.The most prominent feature is the famous Thurlestone Rock, best seen at high tide. The South West Coastal Path crosses the beach making Thurlestone the ideal place to commence a walk to either nearby Bantham or Hope Cove. There is pay Parking for 150 cars but during busy periods it is advisable to arrive early. Toilets are available and there is also a shop/cafe selling a large selection of hot and cold food to takeaway. A lifeguard is on duty from July through to September.
